FLORENCIA, November 8, 2019

On the 8th of November , the eighteenth edition of Florence Rail Forum was jointly hosted by the Florence School of Regulation and the European Commission’s DG Move on how digital solutions can be used to govern and better operate the Rail Freight Corridors.

This edition served to highlight the role of digitalization not as an objective itself but as a way of doing things whose purpose is to improve the customer experience and operational management and increase the capacity offer of RFCs (Rail Freight Corridors ). In fact, the development of RFC’s remains a key element of the Commission’s policy to boost rail freight.

The Florence School of Regulation (FSR) is an initiative within the European University Institute focused on the regulation of the following subjects: Energy, Transport, Climate and Environment, Media, and Water Management. Since its inception, its main objective has been exploring the regulation of these matters within the European context by ensuring high-level and independent debate and research.
